Kick Start Fitness Program for New Members
Welcome to the JCC’s Kick Start Fitness Program! This program is specifically designed to help you learn how to manage your new fitness program. Research studies indicate that significant improvements in strength, body composition and flexibility can be achieved from simple exercise programs and the JCC is ready to help you see those improvements in yourself today! The Kick Start Program is included in your membership.  It includes a free fitness assessment and 3 one- hour sessions with a personal trainer to teach you the exercises you need to reach your fitness goals!


New members each receive the following free of charge when they join:
Three Free Personal Training Sessions with one of our personal trainers. Each member will be taken through a personalized Kick Start workout with the personal trainer according to your fitness goals and needs.  You can set up an appointment with the front desk or see a fitness staff member.

 A Free Fitness Assessment at any time to assess your cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, body fat, weight, strength and blood pressure. This will help the trainer better design a program for your fitness needs.  Please call Starr Kimmer at 321-2322 to schedule your appointment.

 

Kid Fit 
Kid Fit is exercise-based activity for your kids to enjoy while you get a workout.  Ages 5-12
Fall hours (After Labor Day - Last day of school): Open Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-6pm and Sundays 10am-12pm in The Zone. Summer Hours Monday-Friday 9am-12pm and Sundays 10am-12pm

 

Rules for Teens in Fitness Center
Teenagers 13-15 who have completed all 5 Teen Weight Lifting sessions may work out in the fitness center without an adult present.  (With good behavior)  
Ages 13-14 who have not taken Teen Weight Lifting cannot work out in the fitness center. Age 15 must have an adult with them at all times in the fitness center. (Parent confirms age if asked)
 Teenagers 16 years and older may workout without an adult present and without having taken Teen Weight Lifting. (May be asked for I.D.)
 12 years and under are welcome in Kid Fit, The Zone, gym or pool if they have completed a swimming test.

Fitness Winter Classes for 2012 

  

Health and Fitness for Adults (Also, ages16 and up)

NEW 2012
Small  Group Personal Training
Need to burn off all of holiday fat? Can't afford a personal trainer? This is a 1 hour class of high instesity training for no more than 10 particants. You get the attention of a personal trainer for only 30% of the cost.  The classes are held 2 days per week totaling 24 classes for not much more than the cost of 6 regular personal training sessions.
It has been proven in the fitness industry that you need at least 3 months to see a measurable difference in how you feel and look so you need to be commited to this program. We need at least 4 participants to make the program a success.  You can bring a friend and they do not have to be members to participate.  
The first session is free. We will be taking measurements, pictures and weighing in.
We will weight in every 4 weeks.

Yoga 101 (Session 1)
This is a great way to learn step by step the basic fundamentals of yoga. You will learn the language of Yoga and the purpose for each stretch and posture.

2nd Annual "Spin a Thon"
This spin a thon is for the Food Bank of Southeastern Virgina and the JFS Food Closet.
It was so successful last year thanks to such wonderful support from our members that we want to do it again this year! Have someone sponsor you or bring your own groceries (checks also accepted).  You can spin 1 hour, 2 hours 3 hours or the entire 4 hours. It is all about having fun and helping others in need at the same time. The 2nd  week of Decmeber grab a fitness staff member to sign you up or call Starr Gargiullo for more information at 321-2322.

Mini Martial Arts
This beginner class teaches young children respect, confidence and the basic fundamentals of martial arts all while having fun. As the student progresses
new techniques are introduced.
