Drama Days (Grades K-3)
Instructor: Aly Pantas Let your child's imagination run wild! Children will be exposed to the performing arts through fun and playful activities such as creative movement exercises, group activities, speech activities, and theater games. A fun and fast paced environment that teaches valuable academic and social skills, such as team work, leadership and public speaking.

Movement and Music (Ages 2 - 3)

Instructor: Cara Scheffres In this fun-paced song and dance class students will explore various styles of dance! We will explore creative movement lending its way to Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop. We will learn the fundamentals of dance, while exploring our rhythmic and special awareness. We will have fun putting brand new steps to in motion to new and familiar songs. We will use music to support our dancing, while class emphasis is on physical space and moving. No special Dancewear or shoes are required.

Abrakadoodle: Artists You Know and Love (Ages 3-5)

Instructor: Susan Lea The world has many great artists and wonderful art including the drawings of da Vinci, the colorful collages of Matisse, the light drenched paintings of Monet and the well-loved portrait of Whistler’s Mother. These are the artists we know and love! Your favorite little artist gets a chance to drip, print, cut, arrange, dab, mold and paint while exploring these artists and others.  But in the end, these little artists will create their own masterpieces that are as unique as they are!

Abrakadoodle: Art Through the Ages (Ages 3-5)

Instructor: Susan Lea We are taking a trip through time to learn about both wonderful historical classics and meaningful contemporary art.  Our excursion takes us to the seventeenth century, where we will create self portraits inspired by the beloved Dutch Master, Rembrandt.  Then we are off to the nineteenth century to learn about French sculptor Auguste Rodin’s skillful sculpting of hands.  We’ll fast forward to the present day to learn about abstract wire sculptures, puzzle-like landscapes inspired by American artist Darryl Norem, and Kara Walker’s life-size silhouettes that depict daily life, struggles and emotions. An earthquake disaster results in art inspired by the Haiti Houses Project –colorful Haitian Houses in miniature. This trip takes us on a discovery of art through time.

Abrakadoodle: Media Mania (Ages 3-5)

Instructor: Susan Lea Plug Into your Imagination! And explore new mediums such as rice painting, newspaper watercolor and a sculpture made with straws! Without leaving the country our imagination will plug us to Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and India. We will visit a lollipop garden; we will play on a watercolor piano; we will celebrate the Festival of Lights and more. We will even interface with famous artists such as Fernand Léger and Alberto Giacometti!

Move It, Move It (Ages 4-5)

Instructor: Cara Scheffres We like to Move It, Move It and the J has your place to do it! This exercise style dance class takes you through the major dance genres while having a fun, healthy and fit age appropriate workout. We will introduce, revisit, and explore creative movement/Ballet and Tap, leaving a large segment of class for today’s latest hip hop moves. This class will be exposed to many styles of music as well as dance. This class is ideal for all level dancers. No special Dancewear or shoes needed.

Magician Kibitzn’ (Grades 3-5)

Instructor: Rabbi Steinberg Ever thought of being a magician, but your natural abilities fall short of qualifying you for entry into Hogwarts, you can still learn some impressive magic tricks sure to captivate an audience. This class will help you to learn some magic basics. Magical Materials are included in the cost of the class and are yours to keep.

BrickHeadZ Animal Adventure (Ages 4-5)

Take part in model-building using LEGO DUPLO bricks.  The children’s excitement will grow as they build and learn about various zoo, farm, and ocean animals. Become a zoo keeper or ring master as we create a BrickHeadZ Zoo or circus while reinforcing concepts of letters, shapes, colors, numbers, sequencing and more.

BrickHeadZ Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (Ages 4-5)

Dig into a pile of brightly colored fun. Your child will create sculptures based on the ABC’s while enhancing fine motor skills and reinforcing counting, colors, and patterning all while having fun.

BrickHeadZ Engineering Basics (Grades K-2)

These fun activities will introduce the concepts of simple machines.  Creating with hands-on activities, your young builders have the opportunity to build a wide range of creations using pulleys, levers, gears, wheels and axles. How about creating a hockey player that can hit a puck across the room? Or learn how to make spinning tops with gear mechanisms (dreidels anyone) .  All this while instilling science concepts for the growing mind.

BrickHeadZ Amusement Park (Grades 3-5)

Get your ticket to ride at BrickHeadZ very own amusement park! You will build a new ride each day, using a combination of Legos and Connects.  Learn how to make things spin, roll, turn and rock. Motorized models add to the fun.  Your creations will be on display at the camp expo in March.

BrickHeadZ Engineering 101 (Grades 3-5)

This class is designed to move from simple machines to robotics. Engineering 101 utilizes the Lego WeDo Robotics system, individual computers will be provided for class use. WeDo Robotics allows you to build robotic creations that can be customized, add sound and motion using sensor technology and interaction.

BrickHeadZ Buildapalooza (Grades K-5)

This program has it all, a new project daily, robotics, motorized vehicles, game design and city planning to name a few. This class will also provide a leadership opportunity for the older builders, as they work together with a younger builder to create a masterpiece.

Mad Science Crazy Chemistry (Grades 1-5)

Take off on the Chemistry Express for a high-speed science experience! Learn the interworking of a mad scientist’s lab; perform experiments – split second reactions, things that glow in the dark, ph extremes, and melt metal in boiling water. Each week participate in hands-on activities and inquiry-based discussions. Take home things that you have made yourself like model rockets, periscopes, Mad Science putty and more.

Mini Martial Arts (Ages 3-5)

This beginner class teaches young children respect, confidence and the basic fundamentals of martial arts all while having fun. As the student progresses, new techniques are introduced.
